Bukenya and Ssekisambu on score sheet as Vipers beat KJT in Friendly

Club friendly:

Vipers 3-0 KJT

St Mary’s stadium

Vipers Sports Club continued their fine form with an emphatic 3-0 win over Kampala Junior Team (KJT) in a friendly match played this morning at St. Mary’s Stadium.

The Venoms, despite missing several  goal scoring chances, produced a commanding performance especially in the opening half which saw them earn a 2-0 lead.

A brilliant pass from Yayo Lutimba who captained the team was converted into the top left corner of the goal by Deus Bukenya.

The combative midfielder fired the ball meters from the box to give the Venoms a deserved lead.

Moments later Erisa Ssekisambu connected home a through ball from youngster Bobos Byaruhanga to make sure the hosts go into the break in the lead.

The KJT defence were out of the equation as the impressive Bobos drove the ball through their midfield before creating the second goal.

Just after the break, Coach Miguel Da Costa rang eight changes in the team except defender Geoffrey Wasswa, Bobos and Bashir Asiku.

Tonny Odur who came on last had an opportunity to score the third but was quickly dispossessed by the opponent in the goal mouth.

With seven minutes to go Duncan Sseninde spun and shot from the right edge of the box and was collected well by Odur who laid it well for Brian Kalumba to slot in the third.

Vipers has played three games so far, scoring 14 goals and conceding none in the process.

Da Costa’s team will play another friendly match on Sunday in Kasenge before travelling to face Kasese’s SC Bronken next weekend.
