Vipers 3-0 Proline
Vipers Sports Club ended the first round of the league on a high with a comfortable victory against Proline Football Club.
The venoms dominated proceedings right from onset to register a 3-0 victory in the game played at St.Mary’s stadium Kitende on Saturday.
Goals from Tadeo Lwanga, Duncan Sseninde and Brian Nkuubi were enough to spur Vipers past the visitors.
Coach Miguel Da Costa made only one change from the team that played against Express FC with Duncan Sseninde replacing defender Shafik Bakaki who is down with a fever.
Lwanga gave Vipers the lead six minutes after the half hour mark heading home Moses Waiswa’s delivery from a corner kick.
This was Lwanga’s first goal in Vipers since joining at the start of the season.
This seemed to give the Venoms momentum and could have doubled the lead before the break but failed to convert the numerous chances created.
Sseninde scored Viper’s second goal eight minutes after the interval tapping home a rebounding ball after Ssekisambu had failed to convert on the initial attempt.
Moments later Nkuubi stretched the lead heading home another delivery from Waiswa.
The visitors got the chance to cut the deficit from a penalty but Proline striker Fahad Bayo failed to convert.
The result means Vipers end the first round in third place on the table with 26 points.
