Vipers’ new acquisition Ibrahim Kayiwa is set to be out of action for two weeks until he recovers from injury.
A scan conducted on Friday revealed that the forward sustained bruises on the ribs and cannot take part in active sports for two weeks.
“He has pain in the chest area that could not allow him train well,” Michael Lule, Vipers team doctor said.
Kayiwa who joined Vipers from Express FC where he had an exceptional performance last season has not been involved in this week’s training with the rest of the teammates. He had pain in the rib area as was being closely monitored by the doctor for the past three days until a scan was taken.
“I feel pain in the chest but am optimistic I will recover in time and play for my team,” Kayiwa revealed.
The former Express forward can play as a striker as well as a creative midfielder who can unlock any defense with his sublime passes and score goals as well.
He joins Brian Kakaire in the sickbay who also will be out for 10 days with lateral collateral ligament sprain.
“We want to have them fit in all aspects so we hope they will return stronger and better,” Coach Abdullah Mubiru said.
Vipers started their training on Tuesday at the Kitende grounds as they set themselves for the upcoming rigorous football season.
