Vipers SC began their 2016/17 season’s training with vigor at the Kitende grounds with all the players attending except Hassan Kalega.
The players first underwent three different exercises on Tuesday that involved medical checkup, weigh in and taking their height measurements.
Today’s session was brief and was purposely based on the physical fitness of the players. It was conducted by all the technical team led by head coach Abdullah Mubiru.
“We began with a physical fitness test to assess different attributes of the players. We want to check their power, strength, speed, stamina and agility before they can embark on other types of training,” Abdullah Mubiru told this website after training.
The players all showed a positive reaction having returned from their holidays and will hope to benefit from the training when the season starts next month. Vipers captain Nicholas Wadada admits that Mubiru’s addition and the new players has given the team extra motivation and his presence will enthuse the team.
“It’s been exciting for us; we get to bond in so many ways and understand each other better. We love everything.” The skipper revealed.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s training will be mainly based of body endurance of the players before they embark on ball work among others next week.
Vipers will take on rivals KCCA FC in the annual FUFA Super Cup game at Nakivubo on Aug.14.
