Uganda Cup holders Vipers SC have lined a couple of pre-season friendly matches so as to test their squad before the satr of the season. The Venoms began preparations for the 2016/17 season last week at their Kitende grounds after making a few changes in both their playing and technical staff.
Vipers will face rivals KCCA FC in the league curtain raiser dubbed the Fufa Super Cup on August 14; at Nakivubo but the Abdullah Mubiru coached side will test themselves with a few selected sides prior to that.
“These matches will test us mentally and physically and also help in team gelling before the league starts,” Mubiru said.
Vipers will begin with a friendly against their junior side, St Mary’s Kitende on July, 28 at the St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) grounds.
Ashraf Mandela, Geoffrey Wasswa and Bashir Mutanda who were playing for St Mary’s Kitende last season will renew acquaintances for the first time since being promoted to Vipers team.
The former league champions will then play first division side Buikwe Red Stars before taking on Fufa Big League side Masavu FC on Aug 3 and 6 respectively.
“We hope to have one or two more matches before we play the Super Cup. We are still finalizing a few things,” Haruna Kyobe confirmed.

Aug 6: Vipers Vs Masavu FC
The time and venue for the matches against Buikwe Red Stars and Masavu FC will be communicated.
