As the new season 2016/17 draws closer, Uganda Cup holders Vipers SC today made a few additions to their family whom they unveiled to the media at the Imperial Beach Resort Hotel in Entebbe.
The ceremony which opened with a special prayer by Rev Father Steven Muyanja was presided over by Vipers SC president Mr Lawrence Mulindwa who highlighted the club’s vision and plan among other strategies for the upcoming season.
“As a club we have a very big strategy and goal that we aim to achieve but we can only attain that when we plan well and implement our objectives,” Mulindwa stressed.
“We were good last season but we must be the best this time around,” he added.
With the club progressing steadily, last season it represented Uganda in the CAF Champions League for the very first time since gaining promotion to the top flight. Domestically, Vipers were runners up in the Azam Uganda Premier league but won their ever first Uganda Cup trophy, the only trophy that was missing in their cabin and the U-17 Juniors league trophy.
However, the club president stresses that more on and off the pitch is expected from the team this season. In order to attain this fete, they need to strengthen and have a result oriented team that will help the team realize its dreams.
Mr Lawrence Mulindwa brought on board new staff on the technical and administrative departments that will work hand in hand to push Vipers forward.
“Vipers are a family that keeps growing for the better. Everyone has a role to play and add value to the club; we welcome the new members to the team,” The club president said as he unveiled the new members to the team.
