Win over Onduparaka moves Vipers to second

AUPL result:

Vipers 2-0 Onduparaka

Everything is moving according to the script for the Venoms in the second round of the Uganda Premier League.

Just after our away win over Soana last Saturday, the boys followed it up with a resounding 2-0 victory over Onduparaka this afternoon at St Mary’s stadium Kitende.

Two quick goals from Milton Karisa (on eight minute) and Erisa Ssekisambu on 10 minutes sealed the  sweet win.

Miguel Da Costa is excited by the progress the team has made moving from third to second trailing leaders SC Villa by just one point.

Ssekisambu put up a formidable perfomance on the day dancing around four defenders to beat Onduparaka custodian Nicolas Ssebwato.

The visitors attacking force of Ezra Bida and Yafesi Mubiru was easily tamed by Bashir Asiku and Godfrey Wasswa in defence.

Moses Waiswa was named Fortbet man of the match for his brilliance in the midfield.

Tom Masiko came on early for injured Brian Nkuubi whereas exciting playmaker Frank  ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye replaced new signing Dan Sserunkuma who also troubled the visitors defence.

Steven Mukwala who was initially supposed to start ahead of Ssekisambu pulled out of the Starting XI after getting stomach cramps in the warm up.

Starting XI:-

Watenga, Wadada, Lutumba, Asiku, Wasswa, Lwanga, Nkuubi (Masiko), Waiswa, Ssekisambu (Bukenya), Sserunkuma (Zaga) & Milton Karisa.
